Overview

Nigeria Country Programme Evaluation National Round-table Workshop

The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Nigeria and the Independent Office of Evaluation of IFAD are co-organizing a national round-table workshop - in collaboration with IFAD’s West and Central Africa Division - to discuss the main issues emerging from the evaluation of IFAD’s country programme in Nigeria, as a final step in the evaluation process. The event will be held on 7 April 2016 in Abuja and will entail the participation of representatives from the Government of Nigeria, IFAD Management and staff (including IOE), directors and project management staff of IFAD-funded projects and programmes covered by the evaluation, representatives from academia and research institutions, the private sector and foundations, non-governmental and civil society organizations, and selected resource persons.

The objectives of the workshop are to: (i) discuss the main themes emerging from the Nigeria Country Programme Evaluation; (ii) provide inputs for the preparation of the evaluation’s Agreement at Completion Point (ACP).  The ACP will include a summary of the main evaluation findings and recommendations, and will capture the Government's and IFAD's commitment to adopt and implement the evaluation recommendations within specific timeframes; and (iii) discuss the opportunities and challenges of the IFAD-Government of  Nigeria partnership in the future, while considering the evolving development needs and priorities of the country.
