How can independence maximize the value-added of evaluation? How can it be an instrument whereby evaluation can gain credibility, respect, and the confidence of the institution? How can evaluation be independent and useful at the same time?

The webinar will showcase IFAD's journey in the evolution of its independent evaluation function and how IOE has become an outfit that is fully rooted in the institution.

It will describe the effective strategies that IFAD has adopted over the years to ensure that evaluators do not become too remote from the reality of those they are evaluating, highlighting the importance of "harmonizing" independent and self-evaluation methods and functions, as a means for enhancing the use of evaluation in multilateral development organizations.

The webinar will last 1:30 hours and will start with a presentation, followed by a Q&A session.
