You are cordially invited to attend a UNEG webinar “Updated Evaluation Competency Framework: why are they important, how are they linked to the updated Norms and Standards and what do they mean for UN organizations and evaluation stakeholders?”

The event will take place on Tuesday, 6 December, from 9:30 to 11:00 am (New York time).

During 2015 and leading up to UNEG’s Annual General Meeting in 2016 in Geneva, the Professionalization of Evaluation group worked to revise its “UNEG Evaluation Competency Framework from 2008. This revision formed part of a broader agenda on professionalization, which also included a study on professionalization in the UN system looking at hiring practices and the use of the evaluation competency, as well as the conceptualization of professionalization for the UN community.

At the webinar, Andrea Cook (UNEG Vice-Chair; Director, Evaluation Office, UNFPA) will open the session that will be delivered by the Co-Conveners of the UNEG Working Group on Professionalization of Evaluation, Judita Jankovic (UNEG Co-Convener, Evaluation Specialist, ICAO) and Susanne Mattsson (UNEG Co-Convener, Evaluation Capacity Development Adviser, UNFPA) to familiarize the broader membership of UNEG on the revised Evaluation Competency Framework, why and how the document was updated, what the enhancements are and to highlight the many potential uses of the framework for enhanced learning and development, recruitment and evaluation function systems. We are pleased that the following external commentators will further enrich the discussion: Helen Simons – Southampton Education School (United Kingdom Evaluation Society); Harry Cummings – President of the Canadian Evaluation Society and Dione Hills – Tavistock Institute (United Kingdom Evaluation Society).
