WFP

WFP are seeking to fill the position of Deputy Director of Evaluation at D1 level, based at WFP Headquarters in Rome, Italy.

The WFP Evaluation Policy was approved by WFP’s Executive Board in 2015. The policy provides for independent and credible evidence on the relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, impact and sustainability of WFP’s policies, strategies, programmes and approaches, generating knowledge and lessons useful for strengthening WFP’s contribution to Agenda 2030 and ending global hunger. Through the implementation of the policy evaluation will become an integral part of WFP’s work, embedded into its culture and systems of accountability and learning.

The Director of Evaluation heads the independent evaluation function in WFP, aligned with the United Nations evaluation principles, norms and standards. Through the Office of Evaluation the Director of Evaluation provides global leadership, sets standards and maintains oversight of WFP’s entire evaluation function, which combines centralized evaluation with demand-led decentralized evaluation. The Director of Evaluation is not assigned any other management responsibility and serves in an advisory or observer role only in WFP committees or task forces. S/he is supported by two deputy director positions to lead WFP’s evaluation function and implementation of the Evaluation Policy.
