Stock-Taking Exercise on Policies and Guidance of UN Agencies in Support of Evaluation of Social and Environmental Considerations (Main Report and Annex)

Overview

This stock-taking exercise is the first step towards developing UNEG system-wide guidance on incorporating environmental and social considerations into all evaluations.  It looks at the extent to which UN agencies reflect environmental and social considerations in their policies and guidance for evaluation and at the potential demand for additional guidance in these fields.

UNEG's work in this areas is led by the UNEG Working Group on Integrating Environmental and Social Impact into Evaluations, established at the UNEG Annual General Meeting in 2019. The Working Group's 2021 work plan includes developing tiered guidance for UNEG members to integrate environmental and social impact into evaluations. The work is scheduled to be completed in January 2022.
