Women’s equal participation and leadership in political and public life is critical for democratic governance and achieving the SDGs by 2030. It is essential to ensure women’s experiences are reflected in decisions that impact their lives. Yet women continue to be under-represented in political life. Today, women account for less than 8 per cent of heads of State, and only one in four members of parliament.
UNDP’s Independent Evaluation Office, together with the UN Women Independent Evaluation and Audit Services, invites you to a dialogue on supporting women’s political participation, to understand what works and what does not, building on lessons learnt from past evaluations.
An interactive webinar featuring lessons from UNDP and UN Women work in this area will be held on September 22, at 8 AM (EST).
